Contains the following type of material: photographs. Covers the following wars: World War I (WWI), World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the following military units: 28th Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division. General description of the collection: The William G. Livesay photograph collection consists of four scrapbooks of photos of the military career of Major General William G. Livesay from his days as a young officer with the 28th Infantry Regiment during WWI to his command of the 91st Infantry Division in WWII. One album has photos of WWI and the inter-war period. Many of the WWI photos are Army Signal Corps shots. The inter-war period photos are of Livesay's service at numerous military posts, many during his term on the Infantry Board at Fort Benning, Georgia. Three albums deal with the training of the 91st Infantry Division at Camp White and Camp Adair, Oregon (1942-1944) and then shipping out to the North African and Italian theaters of war (1944-1945). There are no combat action photos, but many show soldiers of the 91st Infantry Division in the field as they worked their way north through Italy.
